A white-tuberous perennial, frequent in moist woods. It flowers in late spring and early summer, bearing a sessile umbel of flowers, which open one after another - one flower at a time.  Leaves are cauline in two whorls on the stem.

Grows in moist understory woods.

Present throughout the state.

Small population noticed along the Falls Trail at Ricketts Glen heading back towards Lake Rose along the flat, open section growing among ferns and Persicaria virginiana
